West Suburban: Email Marketing: The Money is in The List

Link To Group: http://bit.ly/2oOmDbr

What if you could flip a switch and make a sale? Having people on your 'list' gives you the ability to connect with prospects and build your brand and ask for the sale without being 'salesy."

One of the most effective forms of marketing is email marketing, which is also called listbuilding. You offer something of value in exchange for someone's email address. You build awareness and trust as a result.

What you offer may also be shared with others.

But the days of "Sign up for my newsletter." are over. People want less email, but they value information that helps solve a problem.

Most email marketers start with a Lead Magnet. It can be a report, video, coupon, short course or something of value that your prospect will appreciate.

With an automated followup sequence you can remain visible for when they are ready to do business with you.

At our Meetup on April 26, find out how to set up an effective email campaign for very little cost. Learn what types of offers will attract subscribers. Learn what types of information will help subscribers choose to do business with you.

Learn how to optimize your email campaigns for the overwhelming number of people who read emails on a mobile device.

Learn why using an Email Service Provider is much better than simply sending out emails from Outlook or your GMail account.

West Suburban Business Networking meets the 4th Wednesday of the month at Northern Illinois University on Diehl Rd in Naperville. We begin at 11:30am and wrap up 90 minutes later. From the parking lot, enter the door on the left or west side of the building.

Tickets are $16 in advance or $20 at the door to cover lunch and the costs of the Meetup. But you can always get a refund or credit. (See policy below)

It's become a great way to network, so bring your business cards!

If you know anyone who would benefit from building an email list, please pass this on! Or invite them to come as your guest!

GDG Study Jam

Link to group: http://bit.ly/2oqyTmk

It's that time of year, again. Another Study Jam is upon us!

Come join us at Rev3 in Naperville for GDG Study Jam, a six session series in which we'll go through the free Udacity Intermediate Android course together.

If you're just starting out with Android, or want to get started, this is a great opportunity to learn together and build your skill with others from the community.

Just like last year this is a free, community run event. We'll have some professional Android developers on hand to answer your questions and help you through the material.

All you need to bring is your laptop, and your curiosity. If you have no experience with Android, we recommend taking a look at Udacity's beginners Android course.

Each session we'll review the homework from the previous session, answering question and sharing discoveries, then dive into the new material. We'll end the series by presenting final projects, fully functioning Android apps, to the group.

Please note, this is a continuing series, so you should plan to attend all meetings if you can.
