Who is DataMelon LLC?

Rick Carlino is a software developer and co-founder of DataMelon who recently moved back to the Chicago suburbs to grow his business. DataMelon LLC is a software development and training consultancy based out of DuPage and Phoenix, AZ.

Rick specializes in web technologies such as Ruby, Javascript and Linux. Rick's past projects cover a diverse range of industries and specialties such as API development, single page application (SPA) development, payment processing and many others.

Outside of work he is an avid marathon runner and contributes to various open source projects such as FarmBot and OpenFarm.

Rick also started a new meetup group this month called "BurbDev". BurbDev aims to enhance the local development community by giving DuPage software developers a place to network and learn.

Why you started the company and what you’re pursuing in 2015?

We started DataMelon with the goal of helping businesses make sense of software and make informed decisions about application development. In 2015, we hope to increase our focus on training and establish a reputation as open source web technology experts.

Why are you excited to be part of Rev3?

I'm excited to be a part of Rev3 because it brings me in contact with the best of the DuPage business community every day. Rev3 membership allows me to stay current with industry trends by connecting me to a network of talented entrepreneurs. It also gives me a chance to share my knowledge with other business owners. I'm excited to be a member and look forward to meeting everyone.
